Meet the creators behind Elouera Sydney

Alexandra Hunt, originally from the UK and the co-founder of Elouera Sydney has educated us on the values and influences of the luxury candle brand. With a charming backstory in Atlow, Derbyshire and much support from her loved ones- here's a little more about the follow up to her new journey residing in Sydney with co-owner Victoria Borg.

Alexandra and Victoria both worked for a networking company as Account Managers, managing various SME businesses to increase their cash flow and market their businesses. They have been exposed to various businesses from jewellers, mechanics, website developers, and fashion!

One: How did Elouera Sydney come into place?

After years of collecting candles then throwing away the glass cylinder, it came to our attention that there was a gap in the market.  Why not create a beautiful candle in an equally beautiful glass jar that can be re-used after the candle has been enjoyed.

Two: Which moment/achievement with Elouera Sydney resonates with you?

There has been a few as it has been a whirl-wind of a journey over the last twelve months. However, a highlight was winning the best display at the Reed Gift Fair (the largest retail exhibition in Australia, Sydney). That was an amazing achievement for us, and allowed us to really boost our next vision for the brand.

Three: Who are your biggest supporters?

  • Victoria's husband, by letting us use the downstairs of their home to start up the business and use it as a factory space.
  • Alexandra's mother, Janette with her artistic flair- learning key photography skills and assisting with online development. Janette also travels with the candles to capture them in different settings.
  • Chee, the founder of Turkish Murkish has approved Elouera Sydney into many markets and spread the word about many of our products.

Four: What are the key values of Elouera Sydney?

We want our products to be re-usable, sustainable and only contain naturally and environmentally safe products to produce.

Five: We noticed how beautiful your Instagram feed is, does fashion and interior influence any of your ideas?

Our inspiration is collected from various places, however mainly what our customers/stockists reflect.  However, we recognise the French/ gardenia influences coming through. On the contrary, the Mandle is inspired by the typical bachelor pad.
